A staff member of the PCN will contact you shortly your completed application form is received and request you to make your application processing fee for processing your application with our partners. Give us three to five working days to prepare your placement details.

Yes. This is included in the fee. You will be met on arrival by one of our staff, who will transfer you to your hotel accommodation the first night of arrival. Participants are advice to send copies of their flight itineraries to us before their arrival in Ghana.

We will strive to meet any dietary requirements you may have, and will ask you to declare these on your application form.

Participants should expect a shared flat for volunteers from local Ghanaian host families and during tours participant would be accommodated in hotels.

Your safety is a primary concern for us, and we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that you are safe. We only go to areas with excellent track records for safety. However, no trip can be guaranteed to be one hundred per cent safe, and each guest must recognize that travel to developing countries is, in general, less safe than travel to developed countries.

Our pre-trip information pack will provide you with how to minimize the risk of falling ill, and our staff / host families will also brief you on hygiene. We strongly encourage you to take out comprehensive travel insurance that will cover the event that you fall ill. This coverage should certainly include all medical-related expenses, and emergency air lifts where required.

All PCN programs are open in every month and throughout the year, but volunteers normally provide to us their own availability date and time.

Full payment should be made the day of your arrival in Ghana, after your pick-up from the airport by PCN representative. However PCN will accept only Application Processing Fees to enable us to process your application with our partners for a successful placement and providing you with your project details and support letter to help for your visa application at the Ghana embassy in your country or it neighboring countries where Ghana High Commission is found.

Once you have completed the Application form and submitted it to the organization,you will receive a confirmation message by email from the organization whether or not your application has been accepted by the organisation before you’re allow to make payment of Application fees.

Weekends are free for all volunteers to explore Ghana. Note you are to inform our staff, host families and project staff before traveling. Also PCN will provide information / guidelines on where you want to go before you leave. PCN have Cultural/Ecotour programs for volunteers to participate during their free time.

Payment could be made via this process:

Yes, you can travel or volunteer with friends, family members with request for the same project and host family, then PCN will arrange for you.

Yes, upon notification, PCN can change project for you, also working project is subject to change at unavoidable circumstances, but volunteer will get same nature of work.

No. Our programs are designed to accommodate all levels of skills and experience.

Free time is available some afternoons, most evenings, and every weekend. Our local staff can give you suggestions for places to visit, or you can create your own agenda. During your weekend you can take excursions to other parts of the country, or you may choose not to travel, and stay in town to get to know the community better. You may also choose to travel after the program.We recommend the PCN Cultural/Ecotour Programs for you to join, this will enable you to explore more and being guided by staff from PCN organization when travelling around.

The PCN Volunteer program ranges from one month to three months or more.

You will have a specific placement, however depending on your skills, interests, and the need in the community, you may be involved in more than one. If you are unhappy with your placement, we do our best to find another placement that better suits your needs.


All PCN group programs are not for groups alone but it is for individuals who have the interest as well.




 

Visas can be obtained from Ghana embassy / consular in your country of residence. However PCN will provide you with a letter to confirm your project with us and tips to help for your visa application at the Ghana embassy.

 

Flight / air tickets can be booked online or from any tour agent/operator in your country. Upon request PCN can book your flight for you from any of our tour partners. Note: you are to pay for the cost of the flight.

No, all volunteers are advice to insure themselves before their arrival in Ghana.

Please note , transportation from airport to hotel the first day and to your host family the next day are included in the fee, but transportation from host family to project and project host family , and after project transfer to Accra airport are not included in the fee. Except those who apply for group programs which will include extra cost.

Yes, PCN host volunteers from worldwide every month and it is most likely to meet other volunteers at your project or host family.

In all PCN programs, safe drinking water is provided. Our staff will also inform you about health issues when eating and drinking outside of the PCN Home-Base.

PCN provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, volunteers are always free to independently explore local eating establishments. PCN staffs are always available to recommend wonderful, unique restaurants in the community.

The accommodation varies. However, we provide a Home stay in all our locations, typical housing consists of a comfortable house in a safe, conveniently-located neighborhood. Clean, modest accommodations with shared flat with volunteers. Lodging arrangements always have basic amenities like electricity and running water (including hot water where appropriate). As part of the PCN program, local host families prepare and serve daily meals.

We attract participants of 16 years of age and above for individuals from all around the world. But people from all ages can participate in our group programs with adults.

This all depends on your placement; however, almost all of our placements are close to the major cities where volunteers will have easy access to phone, internet, and post office.

Volunteers will be provided with room and board from the very first day of the program. However, if you are planning on taking part in activities outside of the organization, or if you just want to buy some souvenirs, you will need to bring extra money in order to do so. On a side note, you must also remember the visa fee, which varies depending on the length of stay and mode of entry. There is also an airport tax, which you pay upon your departure from Ghana. This can cost around 25 US dollars. You will want to determine the amount of extra money you are to bring based on these factors.

If you are planning to travel in Ghana before or after our volunteer programs, you will need some extra money. If you want to buy gifts for family and friends, you can buy them from any souvenir place in Ghana. You can change your major currencies and traveler’s checks at the airport or other exchange agents in the city.

Volunteers are requested to make their destination Kotoka International Airport in Accra. Our representative will receive you at the airport.
